The international Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE) hosted a workshop on “Persistent Organic Pollutants and Dioxin Contamination: Environmental Issues and Mitigation Technologies” from February 10-12, 2023. This event provided a platform for experts in environmental science and biotechnology to exchange knowledge on the topic of dioxin and persistent organic pollutants contamination, as well as the potential impacts and the latest Vetiver application in the remediation and treatment of environmental pollution.
The workshop aims to bring together national and international scientists in diverse fields such as environmental research and biotechnology applications, and those who have received awards from the PEER program and USAID concerning dioxin pollution treatment in Vietnam. The event was attended by guests from USAID Vietnam, leaders of agencies, institutes, universities, stakeholders, and other interested individuals.
The workshop was organised by a committee led by Dr Vu Kien Trung, Director of the Research Institute of Disaster and Environment. It will include top professionals such as Prof. Dr Pham Thanh Huy, President of Phenikaa University, Ass. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Phu Khanh, Vice president of Phenikaa University, and Dr Ngo Thi Thuy Huong, PI of the PEER Cycle 6 project.
This workshop promises to be enlightening and informative for those interested in understanding and addressing the challenges and difficulties in applying and implementing new technologies to treat environmental pollution. The exchange of ideas and knowledge sharing will be invaluable in advancing the field and finding new and practical solutions.”
