Dr. Paul Truong is Director of The Vetiver Network International, responsible for Asia and Pacific Region. Since 1975, he taught at the University of Queensland. For many years, he has devoted his life to research and study the applications of Vetiver in the field of environmental protection, for which he has won several World Bank and the King of Thailand Awards and was enrolled in the "Southeast Asian celebrity." Many of his valuable scientific reports have been published and translated into different languages around the world.

Dr. Paul Truong

Dr. Tran Tan Van is Director of the Vietnam Institute of Geosciences and Mineral Resources (VIGMR) in Vietnam and currently the Director of Viet Nam Vetiver Network (VNVN). His introduction of Vetiver Systems started with stabilization of coastal sand dunes, flood damage mitigation on coastal and river banks, sea dikes, anti-salinity dikes, and river dikes, protection of slopes and roadsides against erosion and landslides, and applications to mitigate soil and water pollution.

He has been an outstanding contributor to the promotion and application for agricultural purposes and climate change mitigation throughout Vietnam’s southern region. He published the book named “Vetiver Grass (Chysopogon zizanioides) and Applications in Vietnam” and many publications with respect on Vetiver.
MSc.Huynh Van Thang is Director of Danang Vetiver Development Foundation, former Deputy Director of Danang Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, expert of irrigation and water resources. He has been a great contributor to the promotion and implementation of Vetiver grass for the protection of river bank dikes and agricultural purposes since the 1990s in Quang Nam and provinces of Da Nang.

MSc. Huynh Van Thang

MSc.Huynh Van Thang is Director of Danang Vetiver Development Foundation, former Deputy Director of Danang Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, expert of irrigation and water resources. He has been a great contributor to the promotion and implementation of Vetiver grass for the protection of river bank dikes and agricultural purposes since the 1990s in Quang Nam and provinces of Da Nang.
Dr. Tran Minh Thao is Dean of Chemical Engineering, Danang University of Technology and Education. His main studies on Vetiver include treatment of domestic and laboratory wastewater, and treatment of leachate combined with ABR.

And especially he has taken many years for studies of Vetiver System for pollution control and environmental management. He is the pioneer to bring Vetiver to Truong Sa island to improve soil and groundwater, creating a terrestrial ecosystem in the island.

After more than 10 years of studying and working in the United States, Dr. Dang Duc Long is currently lecturing and researching on Biotechnology and Biomedical at Da Nang University. He has provided analytical advice, assessed the quality and benefits of Vetiver essential oil, and developed by-products of Vetiver.

Dr.Ngo Thi Thuy Huong along with her colleagues at the Vietnam Institute of Geosciences and Mineral Resources has focused on researching the potential use of Vetiver in mitigating soil contaminated by heavy metals, dioxin, and persistent organic pollutants. She is also awarded USAID's Partnerships for Enhanced Engagement in Research (PEER) program to study "Using Vetiver Grass to Clear the Harmful Chemical Dioxin in Vietnam".
